Your Best Defense: Man Causes Widespread Radiation While Nature Provides The Solution

I'm very sorry to have you waiting all this time.  This project is officially on hold.  Please do not think that radiation is not a concern just because I haven't updated this article.  Radiation is of course a concern.  It takes approximately 6 days for Global Atmospheric Circulation to bring the air from Fukushima to the west coast of the United States; a generous note: half life of Iodine-131 is 8 days.  The concern is that there is still a melt-down condition occuring at Fukushima.

I ask you to trust the copious amounts of data (which may be found online) suggesting that Iodine is NOT the only element of concern.  Your body will take Ceasium as though it is Potassium, for example.  In order to have a full range of protection from the elements, you must invest in supplementation that covers as much of what is biologically necessary by the body as possible.  Prime choices are Seakelp, Spirulina, Chlorella and Raw Cacao.  I will update this as soon as I can.  Thank you for your patience.

First of all, you'd better hope you already have some Atomic Iodine (the natural form required by the body) or Potassium Iodide (KI) in your emergency kit. If you don't already have some stashed in case of emergency, there's not much you can do besides call a friend that has some or wait for your much beloved and trusted government to conveniently deliver it hours, or even days after it is too late.  Of course, that's if they deliver at all. ~ Jonathan

In January of 2008 John Marburger, President Bush's top science adviser stated, "The focus on evacuation should not be diverted or confused by attempts to distribute (the pills)," and also because, according to Marburger, the Potassium Iodide pills "offer negligible additional protection" for those living outside of the 10 mile area the government will cover in such an disaster. Don't expect them to give you "the pills." [1]

I hope people will come to realize the severe mineral and vitamin deficiencies a person can have.  My job is not actually to convince my readers that they are deficient in the life that this earth itself naturally provides, but to inform you that because you are deficient of the proper nutrients, your body is just begging to soak up the radioactive forms of the elements you are deficient in.

For example, because your thyroid requires iodine, it will suck up the radioactive iodine (I-131) that the fall-out brings. I-131 has a half life of 8 days.  This is the same I-131 that is administered by the medical community to suppress thyroid function in Graves' Disease. I-123 (half-life 13 hours) is the radioactive isotope used in nuclear medicine imaging of the thyroid.  Note that even though the radioactive forms of iodine have their uses, they are very toxic and should never be consumed for any reason.


Who should be concerned?

Due to the way the jet streams circulate around the globe, we should all be concerned. If after the first reactor exploded, the West coast was in the region shown as being in the 750 RADS (yellow) fall-out area, and the explosion at reactor number 4 was proportedly 20 times worse, doesn't that mean that even the west coast could be in the fall-out area of 1500 RADS (orange) or more (red)?  Reactor number 5 and now on to reactor number 6… We should ALL worry about this.  It's GLOBAL!

I am using the photo above to illustrate the fall-out concentrations and coverage just after the FIRST REACTOR EXPLOSION and NOT as a representation of the much higher levels of fall-out that we can now expect.  How bad do you think it will be?  Currently reactor number 6 is, as of this writing, overheating and will most likely explode. There are 11 reactors in total.

What can we do before and after exposure?

Not to fear, there are quite a few ways of dealing with exposure to radioactive iodine such as using activated charcoal to scavenge the radioactive iodine from the system, including thyroid, in conjunction with the administration of Potassium Iodide within 30 minutes of exposure will help to rebalance the thyroid's function and will prevent significant damage to the thyroid.  Just a note: Iodine is not the only radioactive isotope that we need to be concerned about.

Depending upon the various factors leading to the severity of exposure, the window of which the administration of life-saving treatment indefinitely varies.  Please note that Potassium Iodide/Iodate are not the natural colloidal forms (nature already breaks down the various essential minerals and conveniently places them in plants) of iodine and can therefore bioaccumulate and cause damage.

One definitely wants to make sure that if their home is drafty, find a way to minimize or stop the cross drafting ventilation factor which is provided by drafty windows, doors and even cracks in the walls.  Secure the above ground areas for drafting while preparing to go into the basement, should their be one.  The fall-out will contaminate everything that it falls on.

N95 gas masks are also suggested to be available should the individual need to go outside during this time period, or if the "fall-out" shelter is drafty and possible heavy exposure expected.

There are ways of detoxing the radioactive elements from your body, but that doesn't entirely undo the damage caused as the damage occurs because of being deficient of iodine and other minerals in the first place. 

The things that can be taken to help chelate (scavange) the metals out of the body are atomic iodine, bentonite clay, activated charcoal, diatomaceous earth (fossil shell flour), sea kelp (because of the abundance of a vast array of minerals, vitamins, himalayan salt, macro- and micronutrients, and phytonutrients including also idodine), cilantro, parsley, garlic, ginger among many others.

I have included additional information about Seakelp in the conclusion of this article, and how it relates to protection and detoxification of radiation exposure.  However, due to the extremely indepth and ever-broadening nature of chemistry, I cannot fit it all here.

You will find some information regarding radiation exposure, bromide detox reaction and the results of using Seakelp in this article as well as how its use helped during the massive exposure to radiation that occured with the tragedies of Nagasaki and Chernobyl.

Understanding the true risks of iodine deficiency.

Iodine is an essential mineral which is responsible for the proper function of much more than just the thyroid.  There are receptors all throughout the body.  All glandular tissue, including the breasts, uterus, prostate, testes, skin, pancreas, salivary glands, stomach, intestines, brain and eyes all require this mineral.

The thyroid gland, a major component of the Endocrine system (pituitary gland, pancreas, ovaries, testes, thyroid gland and adrenal glands are examples of the glands that comprise the endocrine system), requires iodine for proper regulation the hormones thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3).

We are severely deficient in iodine and therefore our thyroids will readily absorb any radioactive iodine present in the blood (brought in via inhalation or absorption through the dermis).

In fact, iodine deficiency leads to many intentionally falsely diagnosed medical conditions.  Enlargement of the thyroid is an indicator that the deficiency has gone past just being a simple deficiency and has become the starting point of many other seemingly unrelated diseases.

Just a brief into what happens when we are deficient of iodine:

Dr Kellman of the Centre for Progressive Medicine in New York said, "Once damage to the thyroid takes place it affects all the other organs - starting with digestion and absorption. Toxins start accumulating in the system. You can have an array of symptoms: heart disease and its complications, high homocysteine levels, poor circulation, weight gain/loss, no appetite or binging, bloating, fluid retention, skin problems, aching joints, low blood pressure, high cholesterol, low libido, hair loss, and sensitivity to cold."

Iodine is needed in microgram amounts for the thyroid, mg amounts for breast and other tissues, and can be used therapeutically in gram amounts. [2]

Q. Which organs require the highest amount of iodine?

A. The breasts.


How to test for iodine deficiency:

A very simple and effective test consists of placing iodine on the skin, mainly the bottom of the feet, and noting how long it takes before it disappears.  The length of time it takes to absorb will determine how deficient of iodine the person is.  Apply iodine to a 2x2 inch area on the feet or stomach and see if it is gone in two hours.  If it is gone in two hours or less, the deficiency is most likely severe.


Does your "American" lifestyle affect Iodine uptake?

Bromide exists in nearly all consumer goods creating a wide-spread and ultimately deadly condition known as "Bromide Dominance."  This is a condition where the intake of bromide displaces iodine from the thyroid, disrupts uptake of iodine respectively, in where Bromide has taken precedence over iodine in that we are simply not getting enough elemental iodine and too much (even a little bit is too much) bromide in the first place.

Bromine, a known carcinogen and recognized goitrogen, is in the Halogen family (Group 17) of elements which consist of fluorine, chlorine, bromine, and iodine while fluoride, chloride, bromide and iodide (and their oxidized forms) are complementary reduced forms of the halogens which are called halides.  The halogen iodine and halide chloride are essential elements for our bodies as we have receptors for both.

For example, iodine and chloride are needed in adequate amounts for many crucial physiologic processes that occur, such as iodine being responsible for production of thyroid hormones (it has also been found that all cells require iodine), and chloride being necessary to keep inter- and intra-cellular hydration in balance.  As you should know by now, your body is electrical and requires minerals to carry electrical impulses.  Therefore, minerals are essentially electrolytes.

Elevated bromide levels have been implicated in every thyroid disease, from simple hypothyroidism to auto-immune diseases to thyroid cancer. Malenchenko found bromide levels 50 times higher in thyroid cancer than normal thyroid tissue.

Potassium bromate as an additive to most commercial bread and baked goods probably provides the most egregious contribution to bromide overload in Western cultures. [3]

Despite it's horrendously toxic effects, bromide is found in items such as swimming pool sanitization products, upholstery, plastics of vehicles and electronics as a fire-retardant material, as an additive in foods, is used to fumigate cargo and for certain other "decontamination" procedures, is an additive in soft drinks (Gatorade, Mountain Dew, etc.), bread, etc... I think you get the point.


The above data suggest that we are already severely deficient in iodine to begin with.  It's probably about time to start cleaning out the bromide, fluoride and perchlorate, and restore proper iodine levels so one can provide protection for themselves when a nuclear threat is near.


Other Halides:

  • Iodide, the halide of the halogen Iodine, is less hydrophilic (likes water less) than Iodine does.  It also has a larger mass and therefore, as far as iodides which are produced outside of the body, are non-colloidal and cannot be used the same as naturally occuring Iodine.  Note: Iodide is also made inside of the body but by natural processes rather than by chemical manufacturing.  This makes a huge difference in how the body can use it.
  • Fluoride, another known carcinogen and goitrogen, is a potent enzyme inhibitor (enzymes are required for breakdown and assimilation of nutrients) which poisons hundreds of enzymes in our bodies, also being known to cause cancer.  Fluoride also displaces iodine from the thyroid. Fluorine, the halogen form, is the most reactive substance known to man, with fluoride being the halide (compound) of fluorine.  Fluoride has an affinity to build compounds with calcium and causes calcification in the pineal gland (another part of the endocrine system) and other glands/organs.
  • Sodium Chloride, the halide of chlorine, is made from sodium (Na) and chloride (Cl).  When combined, these elements form common table salt (NaCl).  It is not uncommon for manufacturers to add fluoride and other additives.

    Instead of toxic table salt, try sea salt.  Sea salt has around 30 trace minerals, himalayan salt has 84 trace minerals.  Both will help lower your blood pressure instead of raising your blood pressure like table salt.  Trace minerals are absolutely required for good health and absolutely deficient in our diet.
  • Astatine, a radioactive halogen that occurs from the decay of uranium-235.
  • Ununseptium, a newly descovered halogen which is not well documented.


A note on Chlorine:

Chlorine (Cl), as in sodium hypochlorite (another goitrogen and a super oxidant), leeches iodine from the thyroid thereby suppressing thyroid function.  Chlorine reacts with Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) to form Oxygen (O2).  Chlorine also reacts with Ammonia (NH3) to produce Chloramine (NH2Cl), the cousin of Chlorine Gas.  Chlorine respectively reacts with Ammonium to produce Chlorine gas.  Most bacteria in the digestive tract produce ammonia, while the rare few produce ammonium.

Halogens (Group 17, formerly group 7) readily react with the alkali metals (Group 1) lithium (Li), sodium (Na), potassium (K), rubidium (Rb), caesium or cesium (Cs) and francium (Fr). Hydrogen (H), in certain conditions will exhibit similar behavior to the alkali metals mentioned above.

Halides are the binary compounds of halogens, of which one part is a halogen atom and the other part is an element or radical that is less electronegative (or more electropositive) than the halogen.

Why choose Seakelp over other solutions?

Symptoms include, but are not limited to: eye lid twitching, foot twitching, tingling in hands or feet, dark thoughts (e.g., there is no reason to live), depression (e.g., there is no reason to get out of bed), anxiety, emotionality, mouth and tongue sores and cuts or "sore mouth", "different" acne,"bromide acne," "acne-like eruptions" without "coniform.", (Some iodine users found zinc helps bromide acne.), skin "cuts", hair loss, brain fog, leg and hip ache (feels like arthritis), rash (bromaderma), metallic taste, sinus ache, runny nose, headache, sedation, lethargy, odd swallowing sensation (reported in old  medical literature as "swollen glottis"), body odor (bromos is Greek for stench), unusual urine odor, dry mouth, ureteral spasm, frequent urination (mistaken for urinary infection), diarrhea, constipation, vision changes, irritability, increased salivation, dream changes, hormone changes, kidney pain, breast tenderness (transient symptom reported to resolve). How much Seakelp should be taken?

It really depends on the individual.  How long have they been deficient of the many nutrients the body needs? Because detox reactions can and are very likely to occur, be aware that the strange sensations you experience may very well be detox reactions from the many toxins (including bromide and fluoride) that have been stored in your body, and NOT necessarily effects of radiation poisoning.

I have read that 1-2 teaspoons of dried Seakelp per day is a good amount for nutrient supplementation of an adult.  Based upon weight, and the other factors shown here, an amount could be decided for children.  For radiation protection and remediation, more is required.  If you are severely deficient (see how to test yourself above), there is vast empty and polluted cellular space inside just waiting to be filled, and therefore respectively will require the dosage to be adjusted. 

Those on thyroid medications should be careful because the thyroid will now finally be getting the iodine that it needed all along and will likely cause the thyroid to become slightly overactive.  There are sources on the internet that suggest supplementation with Seakelp can even eliminate the need for synthetic thyroid medications altogether.
