'Not Enough Votes for Senate Version of Health Reform'... Pelosi

The Washington Post is reporting that Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi has said that there are not enough Democratic votes in the House to pass the current Senate version of health care reform.

"I don't think it's possible to pass the Senate version of the bill in the House. I don't see the votes for it at this time," Pelosi told reporters.

Having the House pass the Senate bill would have put the reform package on President Obama's desk and would have avoided another round of voting in the Senate.

Now with only 59 Democratic votes after the Mass. special election, Democrats face a serious roadblock in their attempt to pass health care reform.
